Columbus Regional Health has begun the search for its next President and Chief Executive Officer. The Board of Trustees has selected AMN Healthcare | B.E. Smith, a national firm specializing in healthcare executive recruitment, to assist with the process.

The search will consider both internal and external candidates. The main objective is to find a leader who reflects Columbus Regional Health’s mission, vision, and values while supporting the organization’s long-term goals.

Jim Bickel, who previously served as President and CEO before retiring, returned in summer 2025 to take on the interim role after his successor left. He will continue to lead during the transition period.

“On behalf of the Board, I want to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation to Jim for his willingness to step out of retirement into the Interim President & CEO role these past several months and throughout the upcoming search,” said CRH Board of Trustees Chair Donald Michael. “We look forward to this journey as we seek a top executive who will preserve CRH’s legacy while guiding the organization through the challenges and opportunities ahead.”

The selection process is expected to last several months. The goal is to appoint a new President and CEO by mid-2026.
