Robeson Community College issued the following annoucement on Dec. 16.
The Student Government Association at Robeson Community College held a creative photo contest to motivate departments across campus to get into the Christmas Spirit. SGA received 8 entries in the contest. Students, faculty, and staff were able to vote on their favorite photo. Results from the contest were announced earlier this week. The department that took first place in the contest received a $75 gift card.
The winners are:
1st Place – BLET/Criminal Justice
This photo featured a police lineup of some of the RCC Police Department’s most wanted – The Grinch, an Elf, Rudolph the Reindeer, and even Santa Claus! Santa is charged with breaking and entering, Rudolph is charged with conspiracy to break and enter, the Elf is charged with stealing milk and cookies, and the Grinch for attempting to steal Christmas.

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse…. But you wouldn’t know that because these elves were misbehaving the entire time the story was being read. 3rd Place – Admissions
A play on Charlie Brown’s Christmas, the photo shows the Admissions Department celebrating the holidays with Snoopy and all the gang.

Other creative submissions were received from Building 2, Maintenance and Security, the Counseling Center, Instruction, and University Transfer.
In addition to a contest, SGA also sponsored Christmas Week in which students, faculty, and staff were encouraged to wear their Christmas Gear each day of the week, ranging from ugly Christmas Sweaters and Candy Cane Day to Grinch Day and Christmas headband/gear day.
There was also one day in which the campus community was asked to dress as their favorite Christmas movie character. RCC was the place to see cousin Eddy from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, the Grinch, Elf characters Jovie and Buddy, Charlie Brown, Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, Hallmark Christmas Movie Characters, and Kevin McCallister from Home Alone.
