Robeson County Public Library issued the following announcement on Feb. 3.
Here are a few words from Patrick:
"I am so happy and excited to become the Adult Services Librarian. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with an English degree. I chose English because I love books and I wanted to find a career where I could deal with books in one fashion or another. I found a job at the Robeson County Public Library as a Circulation Assistant where I learned about the library and its community. Working at the library has been an amazing experience and has encouraged me to go for my Master’s degree in Library Science at East Carolina University. It has been an interesting journey getting my degree during Covid-19, but it was well worth it. I look forward to being the Adult Services Librarian and doing more in the community."
Patrick is a familiar face at RCPL. He has served the community for the past 4 years through his dedicated work at the library. He initially worked as an assistant at the libraries in Lumberton and St. Pauls. In 2019, he was promoted to Operations Specialist for the Main Library. He started his new role as the Adult Services Librarian on Jan. 31!
