Laurinburg Police Department issued the following announcement on Feb. 28.
Chief Darwin Williams was presented an award while being recognized as a hometown hero by Sycamore Lane Student Cameron Collins.
Chief Williams would like to say thank you to Cameron and his teacher Mrs. McNeill for their hospitality and recognition for this award.
