Robeson County Fire Marshal Office Issues Burning Ban Burning Prohibited Within One Hundred (100) Feet of Any Structure.

The Robeson County Fire Marshal Office, has issued a ban on all open burning in Robeson County due to hazardous forest fire conditions. 

This ban prohibits the burning of leaves. branches, or other plant materials, In addition to trash, lumber or other debris. Within one hundred (100) feet of any structure. This proclamation does not prohibit outdoor charcoal or gas grills provided precautions are taken to prevent fire from escaping the appliance. Persons found in violation of this ban shall be ordered to extinguish the fire immediately. Person in violation of this ban within 100 ft of a structure may also be charged with violating the County Fire Ordinance and subject to civil penalties under chapter 5 of the County Fire Prevention Ordinance. 

The issuance of new permits is suspended until the ban is lifted. Anyone violating the burn ban within 100 ft. faces a $100.00 fine plus $183.00 court cost. 

This ban, to become effective this day, June 10, 2022 at 5:00 pm, as authorized by the Robeson County Fire Marshal.
