Seven Knights Honored in AAC End of Season Awards

Following the conclusion of the men's soccer regular season in the AAC a week back, the AAC has revealed the award winners for the AAC End of Season Award voting. Seven Knights made the award voting including seven All-Academic Team awards, one AAC All-Second Team Award, and a Champion of Character Award. 

Senior centerback and captain Flavio Nardecchia (Vitero, Italy) headlined the award voting for the Knights, as he was named to the AAC All-Second Team this afternoon for his incredible athletic displays on the field during the regular season. The AAC All-First Team and All-Second Team features the top 28 players in the AAC Conference voted by officials within the AAC office. 

The ACC All-Academic team featured a handful of Knights, who excelled on and off the field, while showing great discipline and desire in the classroom. The St. Andrews recipients of this award are:

  • Brando Caltabiano (Taormina, Italy)
  • Tobias Crosariol (Milan, Italy)
  • Rashawn Hamilton (Nassau, Bahamas)
  • Hector Lopez (Biscoe, NC)
  • Alessandro Mastrofilippo (Bari, Italy)
  • Flavio Nardecchia
  • Brennan Proffitt (Chesapeake, VA)
The Champion of Character Award and final award voting by the AAC is given to the player who shows excellence in sportmanship, is regarded as a team leader, displays a positive attitude and lifts all those around them on and off the field. Flavio Nardecchia represented the Knights in the Champion of Character Award as he displayed all of the above at all times during the regular season.
