The Scotland County Health Department is actively searching for an Administrative Assistant II for the Administration department.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist the Health Director in carrying out administrative activities by performing a variety of administrative and technical functions and is responsible for some program activities;
Perform public contact and provide administrative support to various health department programs, operations and staff;
Compose minutes and correspondences; attending and taking minutes for different committees in the absence of the Health Director; providing administrative and project support to the Personnel Officer; screening and independently handling a variety of inquiries by telephone and in person;
Serve as Co-Coordinator and member of the Accreditation and Senior Management Team;
Serve as Clerk to the Scotland County Board of Health;
Coordinate functions or activities and maintain a variety of records and files.
The employee must exercise considerable independent judgment, discretion, and initiative in completing assignments and in handling difficult public contact situations requiring considerable tact. Work is evaluated for proper application of policies and procedures, quality and completeness of reports and recommendations and program accomplishments.
