5.2% of Columbus County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Columbus County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.2% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,061 people out of the 51,474 living in Columbus County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Columbus County has decreased compared to the 5.7% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Columbus County was nearly equal to the statewide unemployment rate of 5.2%.

Of the 19,153 people who had a job during that time, 45 were employed in the Armed Forces and 19,108 belonged to the civilian labor force.
