FOIA Request Sent to Bladen County Election Department Regarding Pre-Election Voting Machine Test Reports on October 30, 2024

FOIA Request to Bladen County Election Department Regarding Pre-Election Voting Machine Test Reports on October 30, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at South North Carolina News have submitted a request for records under the North Carolina Public Records Law, G.S. §132-1.

Our request specifically pertains to the pre-election test reports of the voting machines used in the county's elections. We are seeking these reports in an electronic format, preferably PDF, with specific details including the test date, machine manufacture, machine model number, and machine status indicating whether each machine passed or failed its pre-election test.

We believe that access to these public records is crucial for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we have also requested a fee waiver for this information.

We will continue our efforts to keep you informed about your local government's activities and decisions. Stay tuned for updates as we receive more information from the Bladen County Election Department regarding this request.
