In our continued commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at South North Carolina News have sent a request for records under the North Carolina Public Records Law, G.S. §132-1., to the Robeson County Election Department.

Our request specifically seeks a list of all candidates running in the upcoming election. The information we are seeking includes the candidates' first, middle, and last names; the office they are running for; jurisdiction of the office; and party affiliation of each candidate.

In addition to this, we have also requested contact information for each candidate. This includes their address, phone number, and email address.

As members of the media committed to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. We believe that as media professionals disseminating information to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver.

We await a response from the Robeson County Election Department and will keep our readers updated on any developments.
