Winston-Salem State wins NCAA Division II basketball opener with Fairmont’s Simms

On Saturday, March 14, the Winston-Salem State Rams, including former Fairmont High School standout TaNiya Simms, defeated the Gannon Golden Knights 67-48 in the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament.

The game was held at Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex at 5 p.m. and marked the first tournament meeting between the Rams and the Golden Knights.

The Rams will return to Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex for their next contest on Monday, March 16 at 7 p.m.
