Robeson County recently issued the following announcement.
Robeson County Health Department is in contact with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services pertaining to the status of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in North Carolina.
With the heightened level of awareness people coming into our area from other states and countries that have affected people, they should closely monitor themselves. As we have NO known cases in Robeson County and cancellation of local events would not be considered at this time.
The very best thing people can continue to do to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is to wash your hands regularly, avoid touching your face with your hands, and, if you cough, do so into your elbow or sleeve.
It is wise to also avoid shaking hands. If you find yourself around someone who is coughing, remain at least six feet away from them.
NCDHHS has established an information phone number for people who are concerned about an underlying health condition or who think they may be coming down with a flu-like illness. The phone number is 866-462-3821 and website is https://www.ncdhhs.gov/divisions/public-health/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19-response-north-carolina
We will continue to monitor COVID-19's impact on North Carolina and Robeson County and provide you with any changing information as it occurs.
