Robeson County Sheriff's Office issued the following announcement on Jan. 2.
Hello everyone. As schools begin to open and many of you go back to work, please be mindful of kids, buses and more cars on the roadways. That coupled with expected bad weather overnight and temperatures dropping throughout morning definitely be a slight cause for concern.
In saying this, slow down and please allow yourself more time to travel. Several bus routes aren’t running due to the unavailability of bus drivers according to a post I read from the Lumberton High School Facebook Page. There may be others but I can’t confirm. This will probably lead to more vehicles traveling through school zones. Again, slow down please. No need to complain as it’s a new year, a new day and a chance to do better. Let’s all do our part and work together for the good of ALL in our county. God Bless.
