Robeson County Sheriff's Office issued the following annoucement on Feb. 2.

In keeping with the highest levels of training and professionalism at the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Burnis Wilkins presented six Deputies with their Advanced Law Enforcement Certificates.

The certificates were presented on behalf of the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Education and Training Standards Commission. To qualify to receive these prestigious certificates, the recipient must have obtained various levels of job-related training and experience, and/or a combination of secondary school degrees.

“This is the highest award a law enforcement officer can receive that is issued by the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Education and Training Standards Commission. These certificates are the result of years of dedication, and commitment to the profession, this agency and our community” said Sheriff Burnis Wilkins. “As a huge proponent of training, I have always said to have top-tier law enforcement, you must recruit, maintain, and provide training opportunities for your employees These certificates have been issued to dozens of deputies over the last three years. This again just proves our deputies are proactive in their training in hopes of better serving Robeson County”.

Please join me in congratulating these officers for their huge accomplishment. Thank you.
